Unsubscribe from Temu emails
Temu emails a lot, and many people want off the list. In its own privacy policy, Temu names two ways: the unsubscribe options at the bottom of every marketing email, and your preferences in the Notifications menu of your account.
How to unsubscribe
Use the unsubscribe options at the bottom of the email
Open a marketing email from Temu and scroll all the way down. The privacy policy says you can follow the unsubscribe options there.
Use Notifications in your Temu account
Sign in to Temu and open the Notifications menu. The privacy policy names that menu as the place to manage your marketing email preferences.
Unsubscribing does not work? Object
If the emails keep coming, or the link does not work, you have a stronger tool. If you live in the EU or the UK, Article 21 GDPR lets you object to the use of your data for direct marketing at any time, without giving a reason. After that, Temu may no longer use your data for it, and must respond without undue delay and within one month at most. In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act requires senders to honor an opt-out within 10 business days.
Send your objection through Temu's privacy form. Temu gives no email address for its data protection officer, but a web form, and post to Whaleco Technology Limited in Dublin. The link to the form is in the privacy policy.
Example text
Objection to direct marketing (Article 21 GDPR) Dear Temu, Under Article 21(2) GDPR, I object to the use of my personal data for direct marketing, including newsletters and promotional email. This concerns the email address I am sending this message from. Please stop using this address for marketing and confirm that you have done so. Kind regards,
What keeps coming
Order confirmations, shipping updates, receipts and password emails are not marketing. They keep coming after you unsubscribe, and that is how it should be.

Not just Temu
Free scan. €4.99 once to unsubscribe. No account, nothing stored.
Scan my inbox for free →Temu is rarely the only sender in your inbox. in-boxed scans your inbox for free and shows every sender of promotional email, each with its route to get off the list. For a one-time €4.99 it sends the unsubscribe requests for every sender you pick. The scan reads only email headers, runs in your own browser and stores nothing.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Temu send so many emails?
Temu does not say. What is certain: in the EU a company may not send you marketing email without consent or a customer relationship, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
The Temu unsubscribe link shows an error. What now?
You have two other routes: the settings under Notifications in your account, and an objection under Article 21 GDPR via the privacy form. After that objection, Temu may no longer use your data for marketing.
How long until the emails stop?
An email that was already scheduled can still arrive. Under GDPR a company must act on an objection without undue delay and within one month at most; under CAN-SPAM in the US, within 10 business days. If marketing keeps coming after that, you can complain to your data protection authority.
