Stop LinkedIn emails
LinkedIn lets you choose which emails you get and how often, per category. Its help page names two routes: the Notifications settings, and the Unsubscribe link in the footer of an email.
How to unsubscribe
Turn off categories in Notifications
Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage, then Settings & Privacy, then Notifications. Click a category and switch off the toggle for each item you no longer want by email. You can also set how often you receive them.
Click Unsubscribe in the email footer
According to LinkedIn, you can also click the Unsubscribe link in the footer of an email to stop that type of email, where applicable.
Unsubscribing does not work? Object
If the emails keep coming, or the link does not work, you have a stronger tool. If you live in the EU or the UK, Article 21 GDPR lets you object to the use of your data for direct marketing at any time, without giving a reason. After that, LinkedIn may no longer use your data for it, and must respond without undue delay and within one month at most. In the US, the CAN-SPAM Act requires senders to honor an opt-out within 10 business days.
Send your objection through the LinkedIn Privacy Policy. The LinkedIn Privacy Policy explains how to contact LinkedIn about your data.
Example text
Objection to direct marketing (Article 21 GDPR) Dear LinkedIn, Under Article 21(2) GDPR, I object to the use of my personal data for direct marketing, including newsletters and promotional email. This concerns the email address I am sending this message from. Please stop using this address for marketing and confirm that you have done so. Kind regards,
What keeps coming
Order confirmations, shipping updates, receipts and password emails are not marketing. They keep coming after you unsubscribe, and that is how it should be.

Not just LinkedIn
Free scan. €4.99 once to unsubscribe. No account, nothing stored.
Scan my inbox for free →LinkedIn is rarely the only sender in your inbox. in-boxed scans your inbox for free and shows every sender of promotional email, each with its route to get off the list. For a one-time €4.99 it sends the unsubscribe requests for every sender you pick. The scan reads only email headers, runs in your own browser and stores nothing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I keep some LinkedIn emails and stop the rest?
Yes. In Notifications you switch emails on or off per item, and choose how often you get them. That is the place to keep, say, messages and drop the rest.
Does this also stop LinkedIn push notifications?
LinkedIn manages push notifications on your phone in the same Notifications settings. Check them there separately if you want those gone too.
How long until the emails stop?
An email that was already scheduled can still arrive. Under GDPR a company must act on an objection without undue delay and within one month at most; under CAN-SPAM in the US, within 10 business days. If marketing keeps coming after that, you can complain to your data protection authority.
