Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Inboxed.

How do I unsubscribe from all newsletters at once?

Connect your Gmail to Inboxed. We scan your inbox for List-Unsubscribe headers — a technical standard present in every marketing email — and send legally binding opt-out requests to all senders simultaneously. The whole process takes about 2 minutes.

Is Inboxed safe? Do you read my emails?

No. Inboxed uses read-only Gmail access and only reads email metadata (headers), never the content of your messages. We never see your subject lines, attachments, or the body of any email. Nothing is stored on our servers after your session ends.

How much does Inboxed cost?

Scanning your inbox is completely free. You pay a one-time fee of €4.99 to send opt-out requests to all senders. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.

Does unsubscribing actually work?

Yes. Under GDPR (Europe) and CAN-SPAM (US), every sender is legally required to process your opt-out request within 10 business days. The opt-out signal we send is identical to clicking "unsubscribe" yourself — but sent to all senders at once.

Will my important emails be affected?

No — and this is technically guaranteed, not just a promise. Inboxed only processes emails that contain a List-Unsubscribe header. This header is a bulk-sending standard: only newsletter platforms, marketing tools, and email service providers add it. Emails sent by a real person — colleagues, friends, family — never contain this header. Neither do order confirmations, bank alerts, password resets, or account notifications. If there is no List-Unsubscribe header, Inboxed cannot and does not touch the email.

What happens to my data after the session?

Everything is deleted. We have no database of user information. When your session ends — either by closing the tab or after one hour — your Gmail token is revoked and all session data is gone. Nothing to breach, sell, or lose.

Why am I still receiving emails after unsubscribing?

Senders have up to 10 business days to process your opt-out request. If you still receive emails after that period, the sender is in violation of GDPR or CAN-SPAM law. Your audit report serves as documentation of when the opt-out was sent.

Do I need to create an account to use Inboxed?

No. Inboxed has no accounts, no sign-up, and no passwords. You authorise read-only Gmail access, clean your inbox, and leave. We have no user database — your visit leaves no trace on our side. This is different from virtually every other unsubscribe service, which requires you to register before you can use it.

Is Inboxed a subscription?

No. Inboxed is a one-time payment of €4.99 — you pay once, clean your inbox, and that's it. Most other unsubscribe tools charge a monthly or yearly subscription, which means you keep paying (and they keep access to your mailbox) long after the job is done.

How is Inboxed different from other unsubscribe apps?

Three things. First: no account — other tools require sign-up; Inboxed doesn't even ask for your email address. Second: no subscription — others charge monthly; Inboxed is €4.99 once. Third: no data — others store your subscription list and keep ongoing mailbox access (in 2017 a popular free service was even found selling user inbox data); Inboxed reads only headers, never content, and deletes everything the moment your session ends.

Does Inboxed work with Outlook or other email providers?

Currently Inboxed supports Gmail only. Outlook support is planned for a future release.

What is the List-Unsubscribe header?

List-Unsubscribe is a technical standard (RFC 2369, RFC 8058) that every legitimate marketing email must include. It tells email clients where and how to send opt-out requests. Gmail uses it for its built-in unsubscribe button. Inboxed reads these headers to find and contact every sender automatically.

How is Inboxed different from manually unsubscribing?

When you click Unsubscribe in an email, you visit a page the sender controls — and many senders deliberately make this difficult: preference centers with 20 checkboxes, "are you sure?" screens, re-entering your email address, multi-step confirmation flows. Inboxed sends the opt-out directly to the technical List-Unsubscribe endpoint that every sender is legally required to maintain. That endpoint has no preference center, no friction, no dark patterns. The senders that are hardest to leave manually are exactly the ones where Inboxed makes the biggest difference.
